A natural hair lightener

This is a recipe to lighten your hair naturally, you may want to this over a few weeks to get the colour you want. I did this because I dyed my hair DARK BROWN but for some reason it went black! :(. I did some research and eventually came up with this recipe, it worked AMAZINGLY for me so I decided to share it.

You will need:
Vitamin C tablets (you will need a whole packet)
Coconut oil
Your everyday shampoo (I used head and shoulders)

Step 1: put all the vitamin C tablets into a bowl and crush them (I used a potato masher because I had nothing else) into a powder

2: add the coconut oil and mix it with the powder

Step 3: add the shampoo and mix together this will create a type of dough

Step 4: add water to create a paste texture

This mix should be applied to wet/damp hair

Step 5: apply it all over your hair, making sure it's even through out and leave in for 15-30min then wash out and do your normal shower routine

As I said at te start it may take a few weeks to get te colour you want but it does work!

60s Go go girl costume tutorial

The countdown to halloween has begun! Yayyyy so why not do a DIY costume tutorial?! This is a costume tutorial for a 60s Go Go Girl costume. I love 60s fashion so I decided why not make a dress?!

You will need: white fabric paint (I needed two of these size)

A paint brush and a sponge

And I TINY bit of water just to soften the paintbrush

Tape (I used masking tape but you can use duct tape I just didn't have any)

And a black bodycon type dress

You also need a plastic sheet to put under the dress so paint doesn't get on the table and a plastic sheet in the middle ofte dress so the paint doesn't leak on to the other side of the dress

Step 1: mark out we're you want the white squares to go, remember that underneath the tape is black so don't put the tape exactly half way unless you want more of the dress black than white.

Step 2: start to paint the squares remembering to be careful around the edges so uo don't get white on the other side of the dress

You will need to apply a few coats as the paint doesn't dry as heavy as when you apply it.

Step 3: when your happy with the amount of paint you've applied sponge over the paint to get rid of any streaks that the paintbrush has made

Step 4: blast with a hair dryer and leave to dry fully for at least 3 hours.

Then remove the tape and you are done!

Shampoo saviours

Another post! Yaaaayyy
This post is on shampoos and which ones are the best for what you want with your hair

Número Uno: To get hair dye out of your hair, weather you want to wash out a semi permanent colour before school starts or the colour turned out waaayy darker than it was meant to (which happened to me!) use Head and shoulders classic shampoo. It takes a certain amount of dye out of your hair everytime you wash it (which it probably shouldn't but hey!) to get more dye out of your hair wet your hair put the shampoo in and leave it in for at least a half hour and then wash it out.

2. For straight hair. To get naturally straight hair which stays straight for days Charles Worthington straight and smooth shampoo and conditioner is the way to go! It is amazing and makes your hair so soft and so straight!

3: to grow your hair. Lee Stafford hair growth shampoo and conditioner. This shampoo and conditioner is amazing! Within using it for 3 months my hair grew more than 3 inches! Which is a lot for me

4. For damaged hair. For damaged hair I recommend Herbal essences Hello hydration shampoo and conditioner it makes your hair so soft and helps with dyed/dry hair.

Also Bleach London's reincarnation mask which is AMAZING it makes your hair SO soft and is perfect for just after you've died your hair to give it some life again. I actually can't rave enough about this!

Hope you enjoyed this post and hope it helped some of you with your hair care!

Also while I was writing this post I was listening to 5th Harmony's cover of Honeymoon avenue by Ariana Grande it's so soothing! Give it a listen: http://youtu.be/eJ-b7uF6rLw

Fashion Month favourites

After 4 very creative weeks Fashion month SS15 is now over! (Sad face!) I applaud all the designers who come up with completely fresh ideas every year and somehow always make it work!
I view the designs during fashion month as art, months of preparations go into these designs, the colours, the sculpture, how to make it stand out from everyone else.
These are some of my favourite designs/ makeup looks/ hair etc... From all 4 fashion weeks (New York, London, Milan and Paris)

1. The coloured brows and grungy textured hair with blue streaks. From the Badgely Mischka spring/summer show.

This look was inspired by The park avenue princess in rebellion and Marie Antoinette in the east village.
I feel like this look adds a bit more creativity to the look rather than your model wearing a basic makeup look that you wouldn't remember unless the design was amazing.

2. Bohemian style collection from Etro. (Milan Fashion Week)

I love this in peticular design from te collection as it is not too over the top as if you would never wear it and no one would ever see it outside Milan fashion week and that would be a shame. But no it's something that you could wear to a festival and be very comfertable in, which I think is important, especially at a festival.

3. Marc Jacobs hairstyle for their models in New York Fashion week

I love this hairstyle because it's simple yet effective, it's eye catching and impossible to miss, especially if it's on every model.

4.Fake Percings from Rodarte.

I love these fake peircings because they are such an unusual yet creative way of drawing attention to your models.
The collection was going for a "cool-girl-chic aesthetic" and each "peircing" was glued on individually.  I just love them.

5. And finally, the final walk of Fashion month for Chanel.

Even though this has nothing to do with art I thought it was important to add it in. This final walk was co - insided with the United Nations HeforShe campaign ( if any of you haven't watched Emma Watsons speech I suggest you watch it now http://youtu.be/Q0Dg226G2Z8 )

I think it was a brilliant idea to include this in the show to prove that models are not just mannequins with pretty faces that have no personalities, which is what people seem to think. Which is not true they are human beings just like you and me and they believe in equal rights for men and woman just like you and me (hopefully) believe in too.
